Visegrád is a small castle town 45 km away from Budapest, it is situated on the right bank of the Danube. They city is famous for the remains of the Early Renaissance summer palace of King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary which is the Royal Palace of Visegrád was built in the 14th century. The Solomon Tower is part of the Lower Castle where exhibitions can be visited, and the other part is the medieval citadel directly above the Solomon Tower, this was built in the 13th century by King Béla IV.
Visegrád has many great programs for tourists, to explore the woods, or visit to the Sibrik Hill. For nature lovers there are walking paths in the woods made for hiking lovers. There are great walking ways to the Citadel, where families can enjoy the Visegrád Coaster with a great view during sliding down.
Also in the downtown of Visegrád there are great sights to visit, dine at one of the great restaurants or just take a romantic walk on the walkway next to the Danube while the sun goes down.
